Welcome to Mortimers Barn a converted 15th Century thatched threshing barn situated in the rolling rural beauty of Preston St Mary 2 miles from the famous medieval village of Lavenham.

Relax and enjoy yourself in the area known as The South and Heart of Suffolk famous for its big skies and natural beauty which inspired the painters Constable, Gainsborough and Munnings.

History is around every quiet corner : churches, historic houses, museums, gardens and exhibitions. Natural quiet beauty can be enjoyed by car, bike, horse or on foot along many designated routes; stop in villages unchanged for centuries and taste excellent food and local ales.

The single storey accommodation (ideal for disabled access) was converted from farm buildings and makes an ideal place to explore from or a cosy comfortable retreat any time of year.

The friendly owners are on hand to give advice and information but discreet enough to just leave you alone.
